# Connect to LiteTMS

LiteTMS is a transport management system (TMS). Road carriers and freight forwarders use it to run
their fleet, drivers, contractors and transport orders. One MCP server serves every company that uses
LiteTMS. After you connect, you act as the person who signed in: you see only what that person may
see in LiteTMS, and for now you can only read. Tools that make changes are added later, step by step.

| Thing | Value |
|-------|-------|
| Server address | `https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp` |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP |
| Sign-in | OAuth 2.1 in the user's browser, discovered from `https://mcp.litetms.eu/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server` |
| Access | Read only for now, as the signed-in user |
| Cost | Included in LiteTMS once a company administrator turns on the "ChatGPT, Claude & MCP" module |

Do the steps for your client yourself. Ask the user only for what a step says the user has to do.

## Claude Code

Preferred, installs the plugin with the LiteTMS skill:

```
claude plugin marketplace add CodeJungle/litetms-ai
claude plugin install litetms@litetms
```

Or add only the server:

```
claude mcp add --transport http litetms https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp
```

Then the user runs `/mcp` inside Claude Code, picks `litetms` and signs in.

## Codex

```
codex mcp add litetms --url https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp
codex mcp login litetms
```

The second command opens the browser for the sign-in.

## Cursor

Add this to `.cursor/mcp.json` in the project, or to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` for every project:

```json
{"mcpServers":{"litetms":{"url":"https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp"}}}
```

## VS Code and other MCP clients

VS Code reads `.vscode/mcp.json` in the workspace and uses a shape of its own:

```json
{"servers":{"litetms":{"type":"http","url":"https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp"}}}
```

A client that asks for the pieces one by one needs: name `litetms`, type Streamable HTTP, URL
`https://mcp.litetms.eu/mcp`. No API key and no custom header.

## What the user does in the browser

You cannot do this part. Tell the user what to expect:

1. A LiteTMS page asks for the company address: the first part of the address they sign in at, for
   example `acme` for `acme.litetms.eu`.
2. They sign in to LiteTMS as they always do, with the second step if they use one.
3. LiteTMS shows what the app may read. They choose Allow, and the browser returns to you.

If LiteTMS says the connection is not turned on for the company, an administrator of that company
has to turn on the "ChatGPT, Claude & MCP" module in LiteTMS, under Marketplace. Tell the user
that and stop.

## Check that it works

Call the tool `search_drivers` with these arguments:

```json
{"page_size": 1}
```

A result with a `drivers` list, even an empty one, means the connection works. A `401` answer means
the sign-in did not finish: start it again. An answer that says the user may not see employees is a
working connection too: that person has no access to that area.

## What you can do once connected

| Tool | Use it to |
|------|-----------|
| `search_drivers` | Find drivers and other employees by name, status or position: status, position, vehicle, trailer and a link to each record |
| `get_driver` | Read one person by the `id` from a search: phones, e-mail addresses, languages, ADR, branches, employment dates, documents with expiry dates |

Drivers live in the Employees tab together with office staff. People ask things like "Which of our
drivers are active, and what do they drive?" or "When does Jan Kowalski's driving licence expire?".
Orders, vehicles, GPS positions and other areas are not available yet; more tools are added over
time. When the server offers a tool this document does not describe, follow that tool's description.

## Rules

- Never ask the user for their LiteTMS password, and never type it anywhere: they sign in on a LiteTMS page.
- Never write an access token or a refresh token into a file, a script, a commit or a chat message.
- Today the connection is read only. Do not promise to create, change or delete anything; offer the record's link. When the server later offers a tool that makes changes, follow that tool's description and confirm with the user before you use it.
- Never guess ids, phone numbers or document dates. If a tool returns nothing, say so.
- The user can end the connection at any time in LiteTMS, in Settings under Connected apps.
